To prevent market manipulation and protect trader interests, Bybit has established the following execution limits for spot and spot margin trading orders:
Price Restrictions
Market Orders
- If a buy (or sell) market order's estimated execution price exceeds the price limit, the excess portion will be canceled.
- Market orders may be partially filled or entirely canceled.
- Maximum 10,000 transactions supported per market order; any excess will be canceled.
Limit Orders
- Buy (or sell) limit orders exceeding price limits will be canceled without execution.
- Price limits differ during first 5 minutes after new coin listing vs. afterward.
Other Order Types
- During first 5 minutes after new coin listing: Market/conditional/stop orders, OCOs, and strategic orders aren't supported.
- After 5 minutes: Standard price restrictions apply.
Limit Price Calculations
| Trading Phase | Buy Order Max Price | Sell Order Min Price |
|---|---|---|
| First 5 minutes | Open price × 100 | Last traded price × (1 - 5%) |
| After 5 minutes | Min[Max(index, index×(1+x%) + 2m avg premium), index×(1+y%)] | Max[Min(index, index×(1-x%) + 2m avg premium), index×(1-y%)] |
Key Notes:
- Index price calculation method available via reference link.
- Pair-specific x% and y% values viewable at Spot Trading Rules page.
2-minute average premium calculation:
- Collect spot trade and index data
- Calculate mid-price per second:
(best ask + best bid) / 2 - Subtract index price to get premium basis
- Average 120 premium values over 2 minutes

Single Transaction Limits
Bybit enforces minimum/maximum thresholds for order quantity and value:
Example: BTC/USDT orders require:
- Minimum order value: 1 USDT
- Maximum order value: 8,000,000 USDT
- Maximum order quantity: 71.73 BTC
These parameters adjust periodically per Bybit's risk management needs. Always verify current limits via official rules.
Order Quotas
Quotas define maximum token value users can hold after spot market purchases:
Available quota = Total order value cap - (Quantity × Last traded price) - Current order valueKey Points:
- Only tokens in Innovation/Risk Zones have quotas
Example: With 100,000 USDT FLOKI quota at $0.00017:
- Max buy: 571,428,571 FLOKI
- Sell orders permitted after reaching quota
- Value increases from deposits/price changes aren't restricted
